Megan Torrens
Registered Veterinary TechnicianMegan Torrens is a registered veterinary technician. She graduated from the Maple Woods Veterinary Technology program in 2017, earning her Associate’s degree in Applied Science. Megan began working in the veterinary industry in 2010, and her areas of interest include phlebotomy and clinical pathology. She enjoys helping pet owners learn and understand how to best care for their animals, and finds fulfillment in educating clients so their pets can live healthy lives.
Born and raised in Kansas City, MO, Megan currently resides in Lee’s Summit, MO with her husband, Michael, their daughter Teegan, and their four pets — a Chihuahua named Emma, and three cats, Koda, Dinah, and Julius. Outside of work, Megan enjoys spending time with her family and caring for her pets.

Valerie Hoffman
Registered Veterinary TechnicianValerie Hoffman is a registered veterinary technician at Crysler Animal Hospital. She attended Missouri Western State College from 1983-1985, and earned her Associate’s degree in Applied Science at Maple Woods Community College in 2003. She began working in the veterinary industry in 1999, and her areas of interest include pain management, physical therapy, and behavior. Valerie says the best part of working in the veterinary field is being able to play an active role in the healing of sick or injured animals, and keeping pets healthy.
Originally from Plattsburg, MO, Valerie has called Independence, MO home for the last 28 years with her husband, two sons, and four grandchildren. When she finds free time, Valerie loves walking her English Springer Spaniel, Penny, fishing, golfing, swimming, and gardening.
